Every three minutes, someone in the United States is diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukemia. For many, their only hope for a cure is a blood stem cell transplant. Please join Monument Health Cancer Care Institute, in collaboration with Be the Match and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, as we host a bone marrow donation drive and raise awareness for blood cancers in our community.
Please consider joining the international bone marrow donor registry through Be the Match or contributing financially. The Cancer Care Institute will be hosting a donation drive at various community locations in Rapid City from April 21 to April 28. The week will culminate in a “Light the Night” walk around the Cancer Institute on Friday, April 28.

Black Hills State University Atrium (Rapid City campus) – 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Monument Health Rapid City Hospital (outside Nourish café) – 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
- Friday, April 28
Monument Health Cancer Care Institute (main lobby) – 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
The registry process consists of a simple cheek swab. If you match with a cancer patient in need, most bone marrow donations consist of a peripheral collection similar to donating blood.
