Stridor
A high-pitched, whistling sound most often heard while taking in a breath.
When to seek immediate medical care
See a doctor immediately if:
- Sudden, unexplained stridor
- Difficulty speaking or struggling for breath
- Bluish tinge to lips or fingernails
- Stridor even when resting
- Drooling
- Recent episode of choking
