An allergy to foods containing wheat.

Overview

Wheat allergy is a potentially life-threatening allergy to eating foods with wheat or inhaling wheat flour.

Symptoms

Symptoms may include a swollen mouth or throat, hives, congestion, and difficulty breathing.

Treatments

A severe reaction needs emergency care. Treatment may include adrenaline (epinephrine) injection and antihistamine drugs.
