Overview

A seborrheic keratosis is one of the most common noncancerous skin growths in older adults. It may appear singly, but it's common to have more than one growth.

Symptoms

It often appears on the face, chest, shoulders, or back. It can look waxy, scaly, or slightly raised.

Treatments

No treatment is needed. A healthcare professional can remove one if it's bothersome.
