Rhinitis


Repeated sneezing or a stuffy, drippy nose, either from an allergy or from no known cause.

Overview

The inside of the nose swells and fills with mucus. The trigger can be an irritant, such as dust or smog, a virus, or an allergy.

Symptoms

Symptoms include a runny, stuffy nose and sneezing. There can be mucus in the throat and coughing. Itchy eyes and nose are common in rhinitis caused by an allergy.

Treatments

Treatment often involves medicines and nasal sprays, with or without a prescription.
