Network upgrade project will cause brief phone outage at Monument Health 

Rapid City, S.D. (Dec. 7, 2020) – A scheduled maintenance project at Monument Health will result in a brief phone outage at all locations.

The Monument Health information technology department says the outage will begin at 11 p.m. on Dec. 8 and last until 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 9. During this time the normal phone system will not be working.

To ensure the safety of Monument Health patients, physicians and caregivers during this time, temporary phones have been placed throughout the Monument Health system to ensure critical communication will continue uninterrupted. 

The project is part of a three-year upgrade on the data centers to improve network performance, improve wireless coverage and performance, meet new technical standards and provide flexibility as technology evolves and demand grows.
