RAPID CITY, S.D. (May 28, 2024) – On Saturday, June 1, cancer survivors, family members and support persons in the community are invited to a National Cancer Survivors Day Event at the Monument Health Cancer Care Institute. Those recently diagnosed with cancer are also invited to attend.
The annual “Strength and Courage Take Flight” event will be held from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Cancer Care Institute at 353 Fairmont Boulevard. The cost is $5, and your ticket is a donation to support future cancer care community education events.
The keynote speaker will be Jack Caudill, news anchor and assistant news director for KOTA and KEVN, who is a colorectal cancer survivor. The program also includes break out sessions featuring topics of cancer rehabilitation therapy, nutrition, mental health, exercise and a bonus session on breast cancer that includes a Q&A panel.
