RAPID CITY, S.D. (Feb. 8, 2024) – Monument Health and Same Day Surgery Center warn of a scam in the Black Hills in which someone who claims to be calling on behalf of Monument Health representing Medicare, CMS or Aetna is asking for personal information.
The call appears to be from the 755 and 644 telephone prefixes that Monument Health and Same Day Surgery Center use. At times, Monument Health and Same Day Surgery Center do contact patients to coordinate care and service, but patients will not be asked to provide a social security numbers or Medicare ID numbers.
If you receive a call that is unexpected or that you believe to be a scam simply hang up and call your regular provider to verify. Do not share personal information.
