Monument Health’s Family Medicine Residency Clinic in Rapid City is in need of community donations to their food pantry. This past March, almost 1,700 pounds of food was delivered to 50 families, helping 58 children and 100 adults. So far this month, another 1,100 pounds of food was delivered to 27 families.
Now more than ever, the FMR Food Pantry needs help. Many people need assistance with basic needs such as food as a result of economic changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you are in a position to give at this time, consider dropping off food donations at FMR Clinic located at 502 E. Monroe Street in Rapid City. You can also arrange a larger pick-up by calling Mary Beth McClellan at 755-4045. Cash donations are also welcome, as they allow caregivers to purchase frozen vegetables, fruit, and meat for their freezer and refrigerator.
The FMR Food Pantry opened in October 2018 and partners with Feeding South Dakota to help the more than 4,000 people in Rapid City who are food insecure.
