RAPID CITY, S.D. (July 29, 2018) – It took just 26 minutes for the winning rubber duck to race down Rapid Creek from West Main to Memorial Park, earning a $5,000 cash prize for Louis Cisterino. Because of recent rains, Rapid Creek is running especially high this summer, which propelled the 16,000 ducks downstream in what could be record time.
In all, 29 prizes were awarded to supporters of the Children’s Miracle Network, the Great Black Hills Duck Race and the Monument Health Foundation. The winners:

A final tally on how much money was raised for the Children’s Miracle Network wasn’t available on Sunday. However, the Monument Health Foundation estimated donations in the past 28 years of the Great American Duck Race have totaled $2.3 million.
