Behavioral Health Services for Native American Patients

We are committed to providing respectful, culturally responsive behavioral health care for American Indian patients and families. Our clinic serves individuals from communities across western South Dakota, including those from the region’s Tribal Nations.

We recognize the importance of working collaboratively with the Indian Health Service (IHS), Tribal health programs, and Urban Indian health organizations to help coordinate care when appropriate. If you receive services through IHS or a Tribal health program, our team can work with you to help facilitate referrals, communication, and continuity of care.

Wound & Ostomy Care

Wound & Ostomy Care

We care for patients with all types of chronic and slow-healing wounds, including ulcers, burns, infections and bedsores. We serve patients inside and outside of the hospital, as well as people in long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities and home-care agencies. Our wound care specialists develop a customized plan with therapies tailored to your needs to treat the underlying diseases or illnesses that impede healing. Our specialties include bio-engineered skin grafting, colostomy, ileostomy, urostomy and addressing problem stomas. We also offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which can help wounds heal faster.

*Patients must have a physician referral to receive wound care, ostomy care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Urology

Urology

Specialized care, close to home

Monument Health urologists specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of problems involving the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra in both men and women such as kidney and bladder stones, urologic cancers, urinary incontinence or leakage. They also treat conditions involving the prostate and other reproductive organs in men, like erectile dysfunction and abnormal penile curvature. When necessary, our urologists offer minimally invasive surgery (robotic and laparoscopic) for many conditions. Patients who have robotic-assisted surgery with our da Vinci Robotic Surgery System experience smaller incisions, less pain and typically shorter hospital stays. Urologists with Monument Health are members of the American College of Surgeons.

Urgent Care Services

KNOW WHERE TO GO

Urgent Care

Visit Urgent Care in Rapid City or Box Elder when an illness or minor injury needs treatment soon but is not life-threatening.

Urgent Care treats patients of all ages, from pediatric to adult, with symptoms such as fever, respiratory illness, infections, allergic reactions, stomach illness, minor burns or wounds that may require stitches or imaging.

Walk-in availability allows patients to receive care quickly when waiting for a scheduled visit is not practical.

Same-Day Appointments

Schedule a same-day appointment in Belle Fourche, Custer, Lead-Deadwood, Spearfish or Sturgis when you or your family member need prompt care for common illnesses or minor health concerns that are not emergencies.

Same-Day Appointments provide fast access to care for infections, cold and flu symptoms, migraines, nausea, minor skin conditions and other routine medical concerns while supporting ongoing care with your provider.

Existing patients can schedule a Same-Day Appointment through MyChart.

OrthoExpress

OrthoExpress in Rapid City provides walk-in orthopedic care for bone, joint and muscle injuries that need prompt treatment but are not emergencies. Patients can receive evaluation and treatment for sports injuries, sprains, strains, joint swelling and minor fractures.

On-site X-rays and diagnostic services help patients receive timely treatment and return to activity as safely and quickly as possible.

If you’ve suffered an injury, our sports medicine specialists, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, occupational therapists, performance coaches and certified athletic trainers are here to help you get back in the game. We help patients recover from any injury suffered while in an athletic activity such as ankle sprains, fractures, knee and shoulder injuries, tendonitis, exercise-induced asthma, heat illness and concussions. We work toward healing and improved mobility to restore athletic performance, prevent future injuries and optimize overall health.


We're Proud to be on the team

Sports Medicine practitioners and certified athletic trainers currently partner with area high schools and athletic organizations in South Dakota, Nebraska and Wyoming. In addition, we provide orthopedic medical coverage, athletic training and strength and conditioning programs to NCAA D2 Black Hills State University, Chadron State College and South Dakota Mines. We are also the orthopedic and sports medicine provider overseeing The Monument event center in Rapid City.

The athletic training team is made up of certified athletic trainers in the high school/organization level programs and within area universities. Our performance team consists of strength and conditioning coaches serving the high school, collegiate and professional levels.
