Dairy Queens host Sweet Miracles fundraiser

RAPID CITY, S.D. (July 22, 2020) – Instead of the annual Dairy Queen Miracle Treat Day, the Dairy Queens of South Dakota are hosting South Dakota Sweet Miracles, a multi-day fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network, the Monument Health Foundation announced.

Through Wednesday, July 29, you can buy Blizzard® Treat coupons and help make miracles for children. Each coupon you purchase is good for one small Blizzard® treat at a participating Dairy Queen location. Coupons can be purchase online at monument.health/sweetmiracles or at participating Dairy Queen locations. A portion of the revenue from each Blizzard® sold will benefit kids treated at Monument Health Hospitals. Coupons can be redeemed beginning July 30 and are good until the end of the year.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, larger gatherings such as the one-day Miracle Treat Day are discouraged. So to allow people a chance to support CMN and enjoy a frozen Dairy Queen treat, organizers stretched the event over several days. “It is a way to safely serve blizzards and raise money for kids,” said Shawn Powers, Children’s Miracle Network Program Director for the Foundation.

He said 100 percent of the Dairy Queen donations will be used to help provide programs, specialized equipment and direct child and family assistance. No child is ever turned away from Monument Health regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
