Influenza and seasonal vaccines now available at Monument Health

October 2, 2024 Influenza and seasonal vaccines now available at Monument Health

Rapid City, S.D. (Oct. 2, 2024) – In preparation for the annual influenza and other seasonal illnesses, Monument Health is offering vaccines at multiple locations.

Vaccines are the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones from preventable illness. Monument Health recommends getting the annual flu vaccine between late September and early October – ahead of the typical flu season, which is usually from December through March. Consult your primary care provider to ensure that receiving the flu vaccine with the COVID-19 booster is right for you.

Yearly influenza vaccinations reduce the risk of catching seasonal flu or developing potentially serious, associated complications. After receiving the vaccine, people typically need two weeks to develop a protective response to the influenza virus.

If your insurance doesn’t cover the cost of an annual influenza vaccine, Monument Health offers flu shots for $50. Monument Health offers the Moderna COVID-19 booster.
