September 9, 2024 Same-day appointments coming to Custer Clinic, Oct. 1

Custer, S.D. (Sept. 9, 2024) – On Oct. 1, 2024, Monument Health Custer Clinic will transition from walk-in care to scheduling same-day appointments. The change will be to the urgent care services, same-day location inside Custer Clinic.

Beginning Oct. 1, patients who come to the walk-in clinic will be scheduled for a same-day appointment. Patients are asked to call to schedule an appointment before coming to the clinic. This will better allow the Custer health care team to prepare for the visit and save patients time from waiting in the waiting room.

The same-day clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday – Friday. This clinic is not considered an urgent care due to insurance requirements.

The same-day appointments are intended to treat acute illnesses, such as sore throat, cough or fever. Injuries, such as sprains, strains, mild fractures and cuts requiring sutures, new or worsening skin concerns, such as rashes and existing conditions that have worsened.

Established patients are asked to schedule a primary care visit for appointments such as preoperative clearance exams, wellness visits or medication refills.
