Bariatrics

BARIATRICS

If your weight has started affecting your health and your way of life, and other weight loss methods have proven unsuccessful, it may be time to consider weight-loss (bariatric) surgery. Our bariatrics team offers procedures such as gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, duodenal switch, adjustable gastric banding and endobariatrics via surgery or hormone medications.

da Vinci Surgical Robotic System

The da Vinci surgical system helps enable your surgeon to perform minimally invasive surgery by translating your surgeon’s hand movements at the console in real time, bending and rotating the instruments while performing the procedure, but with a greater range of motion.

The da Vinci vision system also delivers highly magnified, 3D high-definition views of the surgical area. The instrument size makes it possible for surgeons to operate through one or a few small incisions.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a technique used in orthopedics, sports medicine, physical and occupational therapy. It is a non-surgical, non-invasive therapy that transmits focused acoustic waves to affected tissue. These waves stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanisms to aid in the reduction of pain, restoration of normal tissue function, and reducing the need for medications and/or significant activity modification.

Deep Tissue Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is used in orthopedics, physical and occupational therapy, and sports medicine. It is a non-surgical, non-invasive therapy that uses focused light to stimulate a process called photobiomodulation (PBM). During PBM, photons enter the affected tissue and trigger a biological cascade of events that leads to an increase in cellular metabolism, which can decrease pain and inflammation and accelerate the healing process.
