Job Summary

Under Physician supervision, the Physician Assistant and/or Nurse Practitioner may assume primary responsibility in their respective specialty area according to federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.   • Recognizes physical, developmental, and psychosocial distress of patient and family, and provides appropriate interventions.
  • Responds appropriately to emergency situations, basing patient management decisions on individual patient needs.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Properly prepares the examination and treatment areas per clinic standards.
  • Completes patient rooming procedures to include vital signs, data collection and other identified components specific to the clinic setting and within outlined Scope of Responsibilities.
  • Accurately administers and documents unit dose medications/ immunizations in accordance with clinic policy following successful training/competency.

Required:

Education – High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies; Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant University or accredited training program

Essential Functions:

  • Performs clinical duties under the direction of a licensed Respiratory Therapist.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify an emergency situation and initiates appropriate responses.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of technical principles of cleaning, standard precautions (BSI), assembly, and testing of respiratory and life support equipment.

  • Answers the telephone efficiently and effectively, transferring telephone calls appropriately.
  • Communicates with patients to ensure scheduled exam times are acceptable, and requirements for exams are understood. Documents changes in scheduled exams and patient demographics in the appropriate systems. Ensures all orders placed in the system meet the time frame requested by the provider ordering the exam.

  • Record Analysis – Responsible for the oversight of active medical records requiring completion.  Evaluates the completion of the record utilizing medical records practice standards for clinics, critical access hospitals, acute care hospitals, and long term care facilities. Coordinates completion of records when an issue requires resolution.

Receives and validates telephone, verbal, and written requests for information from health care providers, authorized third parties, patients, or their authorized representatives.
  • Record Retention – Understands and accurately administers the Record Retention schedule.  Accurately identifies records which have met the retention schedule.  Assists with the tasks to store, retain, and purge patient records.

Job Summary

Cardiovascular (CV) Diagnostics Department is responsible for prepping and monitoring patients of all ages during several different types of stress tests for both the inpatient and outpatient population.

CV Diagnostics nurses also prepare patients for testing, administers moderate sedation, and monitors adult patient’s during Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) and Cardioversions.

During CV Diagnostics testing, the team works very closely with the Cardiologists and Anesthesiology staff to assure safe and quality care is delivered to our patients. You will work at the top of your license on a very autonomous team.

Job Description

Essential Functions:
Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform the following functions:

  • Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the Healthcare consumer’s health and/or the situation.
  • Analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or the issues.
  • Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the Healthcare consumer of the situation.
  • Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implements the identified plan. Ensures patient progression along plan.
  • Coordination of Care – coordinates care delivery.
  • Health Teaching and Health Promotion – employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
  • Consultation – the advanced practice registered nurse and the nursing role specialist provide consultation to influence the identified plan, enhance the abilities of others and effect change.
  • Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Education – Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Certifications – Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – American Heart Association (AHA) – Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification: The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:
Experience – 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience
Education – Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements: Very Heavy work – exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.

Job Description

  • Assists with notification and direction of personnel in emergency situations.
  • Communicates the need for preauthorization for exams prior to completion of exam scheduling.
  • Communicates with clients to ensure exam times are acceptable, and requirements for exams are understood.
  • Documents changes in scheduled exams and patient demographics in the appropriate systems.
  • Ensures all orders placed in the system meet the time frame requested by the provider ordering the exam.
  • Acts as a resource for scheduling issues and new employees.
  • Arranges the schedule if cases cancel or add-ons occur so that the rooms will be well utilized.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Education – High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies

Preferred:
Experience – 1+ years of Clinical Experience; 1+ years of Scheduling Experience

Monument Health is seeking a full-time nocturnal APP to work at an established practice in Rapid City, SD. In this role, you will work 14-hour overnight shifts covering the inpatient cardiology service. This team will be made up of 3 nocturnal APPs who will coordinate their schedules to provide nocturnal coverage each day of the month. We are looking for motivated team members with outstanding patient care and communication skills. Join a growing team with 5 interventional cardiologists and 7 non-interventional cardiologists. The nocturnal APP will be fully supported by an on-call non-interventional cardiologist each night. The nocturnal APP team will join a robust team of advanced practice providers that specialize in cardiology, vascular medicine, electrophysiology, structural heart disease, and heart failure. The cardiology group has an established governance structure to include representation at program operational meetings. Experience is preferred but training for new graduates will be considered.
