Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently demonstrates a thorough knowledge of patient positioning, principles of CT radiation exposure, quality control, image reconstruction, specialized protocols and demonstrates the ability to plan own work. Assists physicians in performing procedures. Provides learning environment.
  • Prepares and administers correct amount of contrast, using aseptic techniques as outlined in the Infection Control manual. Able to start and maintain IV lines. Documents appropriately in patients chart.
  • Develops and maintains teamwork. Demonstrates willingness to learn new procedures and accepts additional responsibilities. Is on time and prepared to work scheduled hours.
  • Documents appropriate information in patients’ charts.
  • Ensures the procedure and related supplies are billed correctly.
  • Presents high quality images to Radiologists.

  • Collects and prepares biological specimens for analyses using appropriate techniques and maintains the integrity of the specimen in relation to the test being performed.
  • Determines acceptability of specimens within established guidelines, avoiding hemolysis, QNS, and wrong anticoagulant use.
  • Performs all applicable testing with quality, speed, and accuracy according to established protocols and procedures. Evaluates specimen integrity and ascertains suitability for testing.
  • Performs test analysis and reports test results in a timely manner meeting the expectations of physicians.
  • Ensures prompt reporting of patient results for assigned department. Investigates problems involving collection, result reporting, and turn-around-time.
  • Organizes department workload for maximum efficiency.
  • Evaluates and interprets test results according to individual test specifications, performing necessary calculations; applies laboratory results to disease and/or patient therapy.
  • Ensures initial calibration and standardization of equipment by applying criteria of acceptable functions and performance limits (i.e., precision, reproducibility, accuracy).
  • Answers telephone promptly and courteously, identifying self and section. Demonstrates good judgment in directing phone calls/questions to appropriate section.

Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist may work in ambulatory or acute care environments. Performs and is competent in Radiology under the direction of the Radiologist. The Technologist must be able to independently acquire the proper exam for the Radiologist’s interpretation. The Technologist is able to operate all radiological equipment in the proper setting. The Technologist is required to work with patients in age group specific environments: pediatric, geriatric, febrile, and acute care; adjusting technique and positions for optimal examinations.

The Technologist is responsible for exam room presentation, patient transportation, entering exams into the Radiology Information System, scheduling radiology exams, educating patients on exam prep instructions, obtaining correct orders and paperwork for records, billing, and communicating with Medical Staff as requested. Technologist will obtain and maintain the knowledge needed for the PACS. The Technologist may share on call duties. Depending on the needs of the care environment may be responsible for evenings, weekends and holidays as directed by the department leader. Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Function as a participating credentialed team member in the department and implement and maintenance of standards of care.
  • Direction and coordination of a selected delivery system of patient care and assure customer satisfaction measures are adhered to by fellow caregivers
  • Incorporate regulatory mandates into laboratory practice and ongoing quality assurance activities.
  • Identify and plan for developmental needs of the caregivers and ensuring there are caregivers to have 24-hour coverage appropriate to patient care needs.
  • Conduct timely and periodic performance appraisals based on hospital standards.
  • Promotion of a collaborative practice with other health care disciplines to assure an integrated approach to care of the patient.
  • Facilitate and develop realistic annual budget needs and active promotion of cost effective unit operations.
  • Acts as an agent of the supervising physician for any medical services that are delegated that are within the Advanced Practice Clinician’s scope of practice.
  • Institutes appropriate emergency measures in critical situations until the physician is notified for orders or arrives to manage the emergency.
  • In consultation with HR, oversees recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and disciplinary process for caregivers. When necessary, defines appropriate disciplinary action and administrates within policies and procedures.

  • Performs general office duties, as needed, to expedite workflow (e.g., answering the telephones, assisting in jacket retrieval, readying films and paperwork, processing patient orders, and/or operating office equipment).

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Competently scans MR and CMR protocols developed by radiologists and cardiologists.
  • Ensures no ferrous metal objects are taken into the scan room.
  • Properly positions coil and patient to obtain the best image quality. Handles coils with care. Pads placed where necessary for patient comfort. Routes all IV lines and monitoring cables safely in and out of the magnet bore.
  • Selects scanning parameters based on established protocols and information obtained from patient history, chart, requisition, and previous exams.
  • Prepares and administers correct amount of contrast, using aseptic techniques as outlined in the Infection Control manual. Able to start and maintain IV lines. Documents appropriately in patients chart.
  • Ensures the procedure and related supplies are billed correctly.
  • Reports malfunctions to service representative by logging a service call and notifies charge technologist and/or supervisor.
  • Develops and maintains teamwork. Demonstrates willingness to learn new procedures and accepts additional responsibilities. Is on time and prepared to work scheduled hours.
  • Competently works within required computer programs (i.e. PACs, RIS, Vrad) as well as manual downtime processes.
