As a Medical Laboratory MLT/MLS/MT, your focus will be to collect, prepare, and perform a variety of routine laboratory tests, with varying complexity. Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Collects and prepares biological specimens for analyses using appropriate techniques and maintains the integrity of the specimen in relation to the test being performed.
  • Determines acceptability of specimens within established guidelines, avoiding hemolysis, QNS, and wrong anticoagulant use.
  • Performs all applicable testing with quality, speed, and accuracy according to established protocols and procedures. Evaluates specimen integrity and ascertains suitability for testing.
  • Performs test analysis and reports test results in a timely manner meeting the expectations of physicians.
  • Ensures prompt reporting of patient results for assigned department. Investigates problems involving collection, result reporting, and turn-around-time.
  • Organizes department workload for maximum efficiency.
  • Evaluates and interprets test results according to individual test specifications, performing necessary calculations; applies laboratory results to disease and/or patient therapy.
  • Ensures initial calibration and standardization of equipment by applying criteria of acceptable functions and performance limits (i.e., precision, reproducibility, accuracy).
  • Answers telephone promptly and courteously, identifying self and section. Demonstrates good judgment in directing phone calls/questions to appropriate section.
  • Ensures smooth transition of duties within current shift and for oncoming shift by receiving pertinent information and conveying to other Healthcare personnel accurately and efficiently.
  • Demonstrates the willingness and ability to instruct other staff and students.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Education – Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Associates degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science.  Or high school graduate or equivalent and have successfully completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupation specialty of medical laboratory specialist (laboratory technician)

Certification – Medical Lab Technician (MLT) – American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technology (AMT), or Military Laboratory Specialist

Preferred:

Education – Bachelors degree in chemical, physical, or biologic Sciences or Clinical Laboratory Science

Job Summary

**UP TO $20,000 SIGN ON BONUS FOR QUALIFIED CANDIDATES**

The CT Technologist will work in Level II trauma hospital setting. Performs and is competent in Computed Tomography under the direction of the Radiologist. The CT Technologist must be able to independently acquire the proper exam for the Radiologist’s interpretation. The CT technologist is able to operate all CT equipment in the proper setting. The CT Technologist is required to work with patients in age group specific environments: pediatric, geriatric, febrile, and critical acute care; adjusting technique and positions for optimal examinations.

The CT technologist will be required to meet the needs of outpatients, inpatients and emergency department patients. Working in a high volume, Level II Hospital with ambulatory, non-ambulatory, acute and chronically ill, trauma and stroke patients. The CT Technologist is responsible for exam room presentation, patient transportation, entering exams into the Radiology Information System, scheduling CT exams, educating patients on exam prep instructions, obtaining correct orders and paperwork for records, billing, and communicating with Medical Staff as requested. The CT Technologist will obtain and maintain the knowledge needed for the PACS. Caregiver will be responsible for evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as directed by the department leader. The CT Technologist reports equipment malfunctions/failures to their immediate Supervisor, Maintenance staff, or Bio-med service as appropriate. The CT Technologist follows all policies and procedures as set by the Medical Imaging Department, the facility and the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently demonstrates a thorough knowledge of patient positioning, principles of CT radiation exposure, quality control, image reconstruction, specialized protocols in a Level II trauma hospital setting, including but not limited to TAVR, perfusion studies, Cardiac CTA, AFIB angiograms as well as complex trauma situations and angiograms.  The CT technologist will be able to prioritize patients and demonstrates the ability to plan own work. Assists physicians in performing procedures. Provides learning environment.
  • Monument Health is a teaching organization; all radiology technologists will provide a learning environment for the students completing their clinical rotation.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

  • Ensures the procedure and related supplies are billed correctly.
  • Reviews patient’s condition, history, and physicians order; consults radiologist with any questions. Determines proper positioning, and selects correct patient from work list.
  • Presents high quality images to Radiologists.
  • Routinely prepares the patient and the equipment for the upcoming procedure. Educates the patient and/ or family regarding the procedure to be performed. Provides professional age-specific interaction with patients.
  • Competently works within required computer programs (i.e. PACs, RIS, Vrad) as well as manual downtime processes.

Job Summary

The medical physicist is responsible for daily, monthly, and annual quality assurance on a linear accelerator, tomotherapy, and CT simulator. Performs patient-specific calculations for patient treatment plans. Ensures the accuracy and safety of therapeutic procedures. Assesses image quality of computed tomography images. Develops and implements new clinical treatment modalities. Plans, performs quality assurance, and assists with brachytherapy treatments.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Performs machine quality assurance on all treatment and imaging devices in the department.
  • Evaluates therapy plans for safe and effective treatments.
  • Performs patient-specific quality assurance before treatment start.
  • Advises chief physicist, physicians, radiation therapists, and dosimetrists of equipment problems
  • Researches new treatment and imaging equipment, develops, and implements them.
  • Participates in scheduled technical meetings to address equipment, planning, and project work.
  • Consults with equipment vendors, and trouble-shoots clinical problems to ensure timely treatments.
  • Assists chief physicist to develop policies and procedures for accreditation.
  • Performs daily and annual quality assurance on a high dose rate remote afterloader.
  • Plans and participates in breast, gynecological and prostate brachytherapy treatments.
  • Attends national medical physics meetings to brainstorm new clinical procedures and equipment.
  • Instructs radiation therapy staff in radiation safety.
  • Ensures compliance of radiation therapy activities with all state and federal laws and regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Education – Master's degree + Residency (2 years) or 2 years of equivalent experience in Medical Physics 
Experience – ABR certification or finished residency program or completion of a formal educational program that requires hours equivalent to a residency program

Preferred:
Education – Ph.D. degree in medical physics or related field
Experience – ABR certification or accredited residency program graduation; Strong experience on HDR and LDR
 

Physical Requirements:

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Collects and prepares biological specimens for analyses using appropriate techniques and maintains the integrity of the specimen in relation to the test being performed.
  • Determines acceptability of specimens within established guidelines, avoiding hemolysis, QNS, and wrong anticoagulant use.
  • Performs all applicable testing with quality, speed, and accuracy according to established protocols and procedures. Evaluates specimen integrity and ascertains suitability for testing.
  • Performs test analysis and reports test results in a timely manner meeting the expectations of physicians.
  • Ensures prompt reporting of patient results for assigned department. Investigates problems involving collection, result reporting, and turn-around-time.
  • Organizes department workload for maximum efficiency.
  • Evaluates and interprets test results according to individual test specifications, performing necessary calculations; applies laboratory results to disease and/or patient therapy.
  • Ensures initial calibration and standardization of equipment by applying criteria of acceptable functions and performance limits (i.e., precision, reproducibility, accuracy).
  • Answers telephone promptly and courteously, identifying self and section. Demonstrates good judgment in directing phone calls/questions to appropriate section.
  • Ensures smooth transition of duties within current shift and for oncoming shift by receiving pertinent information and conveying to other Healthcare personnel accurately and efficiently.
  • Demonstrates the willingness and ability to instruct other staff and students.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Education – Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Associates degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science.  Or high school graduate or equivalent and have successfully completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupation specialty of medical laboratory specialist (laboratory technician)

Certification – Medical Lab Technician (MLT) – American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technology (AMT), or Military Laboratory Specialist

Preferred:

Education – Bachelors degree in chemical, physical, or biologic Sciences or Clinical Laboratory Science

Job Summary

Performs imaging examinations for both ambulatory or acute care environments. Performing multi-modality procedures based on ARRT certification level, utilizing a variety of technical aspects that require judgement, ingenuity, and initiative in applying ionizing radiation to obtain diagnostic images. Promotes a cooperative and professional atmosphere with emphasis on patient care. The Technologist is required to work with patients in age group specific environments: pediatric, geriatric, febrile, and acute care; adjusting technique and positions for optimal examinations. ·Prepares and administers correct amount of contrast, using aseptic techniques as outlined in the Infection Control manual. Able to start and maintain IV lines

·Consistently demonstrates a thorough knowledge to operate all radiological equipment in the proper setting, patient positioning, principles of radiation exposure/ safety, quality control, image processing, specialized protocols and demonstrates the ability to plan own work.

·Will work as a team with other imaging departments to coordinate patient care and flow throughout care environment.  

·Monument Health is a teaching organization; all radiology technologists will provide a learning environment for the students completing their clinical rotation.

·Consistently demonstrates the ability to efficiently perform multiple complex tasks and to assist with the continuing technical education of imaging staff, physicians, and radiography students.

·Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

·Routinely prepares the patient and the equipment for the upcoming procedure. Educates the patient and/ or family regarding the procedure to be performed. Provides professional age-specific interaction with patients.
