RAPID CITY, S.D. (May 15, 2023) – Amber Adamson, a Nurse Aide at Monument Health Orthopedic & Specialty Hospital, has received the TULIP Award. This award is presented to nursing support caregivers who exemplify Monument Health’s values of trust, respect, compassion, community and excellence. These individuals make a difference in the lives of their patients and patient families, and are a vital part of our nursing care teams. Amber was nominated by a patient.
The patient wrote, “Amber provided exemplary care with attention to detail concerning my stay in the hospital. She was most thoughtful during my care, her mood was always upbeat and positive and she was always ready to figure out a way to get things done.”
The nomination continued, “Amber was most attentive to my many calls and she was always quick to respond in a cheerful and positive manner. She paid great attention to my many medical issues that were exacerbated by my procedure. She asked questions and came up with solutions to my needs. Admittedly, I was a difficult patient to deal with and she never once appeared flustered or frustrated with me. She was always looking at ways to help and keep me calm.”
TULIP is an acronym for, “Thoughtful upbeat loving individuals caring for patients,” and the TULIP Award recognizes outstanding members of Monument Health’s nursing support teams. Nursing support includes positions such as Nurse Aides, Certified Nursing Assistants, Emergency Department Technicians, Psychiatric Technicians, Health Unit Clerks, Dialysis Technicians, Clinical Assistants, Cardiac Monitoring Technicians, Activities Assistants, Medical Assistants, Certified Medical Assistants, Medication Aides and Restorative Assistants.
