At Monument Health, our Interventional Gastroenterologist and GI clinic team are committed to providing top-notch care for patients’ gastrointestinal complaints despite the complexity of their disease. Our team provides evaluation and defines treatment for a full range of digestive disease conditions — tailoring treatment plans to each patient’s specific needs with the goal of improving their functional status and quality of life.

The Gastroenterology Clinic is co-located with the General Surgery Clinic within the Rapid City Hospital to provide a multidisciplinary approach for our providers to work collaboratively as a team to monitor your progress and provide the best answers for your digestive disease complaints.

Liver Care in Partnership with Nebraska Medicine

Monument Health partners with Nebraska Medicine specialists to provide convenient care for patients with liver, pancreas and biliary disorders in and around Rapid City.

Nebraska Medicine hepatologists and surgeons hold clinic hours at Monument Health on the first and third Tuesday of each month, allowing patients to receive specialized liver and hepatobiliary care close to home. Constant communication and coordination between both health systems helps ensure patients receive state-of-the-art health care.

 

Keeping care close to home

Nebraska Medicine hepatologists and surgeons see patients experiencing the following conditions:

If liver transplantation is necessary, patients will travel to The Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha for a three- to four-day outpatient liver transplant evaluation.

After transplantation, patients will continue to be seen and monitored at Monument Health.

How to make a referral

Patients can either self-refer or obtain a referral from their primary care provider to see a Nebraska Medicine hepatologist in Rapid City.

The following documentation is required to schedule your first appointment:

  • Referral
  • Insurance card or photo of the front and back of the insurance card
  • Clinic notes
  • Endoscopy reports (colonoscopy, EGD)
  • Pathology reports
  • Imaging studies (ultrasound, MRI, CT or X-ray)
