A simple heart scan could save your life.
Monument Health Rapid City, Custer and Lead-Deadwood Hospitals now offer a calcium scoring scan in partnership with the National Heart Health Program.
A calcium scoring scan is a 10-minute CT scan that requires no needles, prep or recovery time. This scan can detect heart disease early enough to take preventative measure to reduce the risk of a heart attack.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. This calcium score scan can help determine if a patient is at a high risk for coronary artery disease (CAD) which can lead to a heart attack.
Who should have this scan?
If you are 40-75 years of age with one of more heart disease risk factors including:
- High blood pressure
