Emergency medical services are coordinated with ambulance crews and air ambulance services so that patients have fast access to the care they need including emergency stabilization, surgeons and specialists.
Designated as a regional trauma hospital by the South Dakota Department of Health, and verified as a Level II Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons, Monument Health Rapid City Hospital is the only facility of its kind in western South Dakota. Staff are available 24/7 in the emergency department, surgery, respiratory therapy, radiology, critical care, nursing, pastoral care and rehabilitation.
