A condition that increases a person's risk of forming clumped masses of blood (clots).

Overview

Thrombophilia is an inherited condition that increases the risk of forming blood clots. Such blood clots may travel through the blood vessels and cause a life-threatening blockage of blood flow to the heart, lungs, or brain. Blood clots also may cause pregnancy complications.

Treatments

Treatment may include blood-thinning drugs.
