Panic disorder

Overview

Panic disorder involves repeated episodes of sudden and intense fear (panic attacks) when there's no real danger. Panic attacks may feel like a heart attack.

Treatments

Treatments are effective and may include talk therapy, antidepressants, sedatives, or a combination of these treatments.
