Overview

Hamartoma is a noncancerous tumorlike growth. It can happen in a number of places in the body. There are many kinds of hamartoma, including melanocytic nevi and hemangioma.

A hamartoma may be harmless. However, it can cause pressure, a blockage, or an infection.
