Overview

Gastrointestinal stromal tumor, also called GIST, is a digestive tract cancer. It starts in special nerve cells in the walls of the digestive organs. This cancer happens most often in the stomach or small intestine.

Symptoms

Symptoms may include pain or swelling in the belly, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue.

Treatments

Treatments include surgery and targeted therapy medicines.
