Brugada syndrome can be life-threatening. It raises the risk of irregular heart rhythms that start in the heart's lower chambers. Most often, Brugada syndrome is passed down in families. It's more common in men.

Symptoms

Brugada syndrome symptoms can include trouble breathing, dizziness, fainting, irregular heartbeats, or a very fast and chaotic heartbeat. But some people with the disorder have no symptoms.

Treatments

Treatment for Brugada syndrome can include medicine to prevent a dangerous irregular heart rhythm. These medicines may be used alone or with a medical device that controls the heartbeat.
