Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with pre/post testing of camp participants. Must attend all staff training sessions and camp dates unless prior approval by supervisor.
  • Provides leadership and support to the athletes and assists where and as needed as directed by supervisor.
  • Assists with daily set-up/tear-down of equipment and drills and practice preventative maintenance of equipment. Observe all safety standards and uses protective equipment when required.
  • Communicate patient concerns or problems.

Job Description

Essential Functions at Monument Health Acute Inpatient Locations:

  • Recognize signs and symptoms of an emergency and readily identify how to best support patients/families. Focus on patient safety and quality when applying appropriate respiratory interventions.
  • Reviews existing data, collects additional data, and recommends obtaining data to evaluate the respiratory status of patients.
  • Develops, implements, and modifies respiratory care treatment plans based on assessment of the cardiorespiratory system, department policy and procedure, physician-approved respiratory care protocols, clinical pathways, referrals and written, verbal, or telecommunicated orders of a physician.
  • Initiates and conducts prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures such as: administering medical gases, humidification and aerosols, aerosol medications, postural drainage, bronchopulmonary hygiene, pulmonary function testing, hemodynamic monitoring, and other physiologic monitoring; collects specimens of blood and other diagnostic specimens.
  • Manages mechanical ventilator support and other means of life support, maintains artificial and natural airways, initiates cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other emergency procedures, performs invasive and non-invasive procedures following established standards.
  • Documents necessary information in the patient’s medical record and on other forms and communicates the information to members of the health care team.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform complex procedures and the critical thinking skills required to serve critical patients.
  • Obtains, assembles, calibrates, and checks necessary equipment. Uses problem solving to identify and correct malfunctions of respiratory care equipment.

Job Summary

The LPC Mental Health Counselor or Social Worker MSW coordinates, plans and delivers the best psychotherapeutic approach for each patient. Provides clinical (only) supervision for day-to-day implementation of therapeutic strategies or milieu programming that carries out the treatment plan for each patient by a variety of staff including psychiatric technicians, LPNs, RNs, mental health counselors and discharge planners across the Center’s continuum of care. Services are provided with the recognized standards of practice and the patient’s Plan of Care. The Plan of Care is based on the initial and comprehensive assessments of patient/caregiver.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Provides individual, marital, family and group therapy within the scope of the inpatient unit
  • Develops and implements an individualized treatment approach. Communicates with family to further the effectiveness of treatment plan.
  • Collaborates with patient/family, multidisciplinary team, and physician to formulate a realistic plan that identifies goals, specific interventions, and resources to meet the patient's needs.
  • Assesses patient’s progress and modifies treatment plan accordingly.
  • Develops and maintains positive partnerships with providers of mental health and social services in the community as appropriate to the needs and requirements of the patient on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintains good communication and collaborative relationships with referring providers and other staff. Recommends additional referrals for patient as needed.
  • Functions as a positive resource, communication coordinator, and role model for departmental staff. Maintains accessibility and visibility within the department.
  • Assists patients to maintain their sense of competence, identity and autonomy.
  • Demonstrates effective collaboration with community/regional services and hospital personnel while maintaining patient and family rights.
  • Assists in discharge plan development, giving direction to discharge planner as needed.
  • Completes discharge planning note/assessment within predetermined guidelines. Upon completion of assessment, recommendations are integrated into the treatment plan 95% of the time.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education – Masters degree in Counseling or Social Work
Certifications – Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) – South Dakota Department of Social Services or Certified Social Work (CSW) – South Dakota Department of Social Services

Physical Requirements:

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with pre/post testing of camp participants. Must attend all staff training sessions and camp dates unless prior approval by supervisor.
  • Provides leadership and support to the athletes and assists where and as needed as directed by supervisor.
  • Assists with daily set-up/tear-down of equipment and drills and practice preventative maintenance of equipment. Observe all safety standards and uses protective equipment when required.
  • Communicate patient concerns or problems.
  • Responds appropriately in an emergency situation and assists promptly and professional when necessary.
  • Assists with the budget by monitoring supply inventory.
  • Analyze systems and procedures and recommends changes to improve work flow and efficiency. Maintain and compile statistics for programs associated with the school.
  • Maintain a filing system to follow injuries, progress, referrals, and treatment orders from physicians for all athletes in the school.
