Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Performs interventions, skills, and procedures consistent with accepted standards of surgical practice, policies and procedures in the surgical suite. These include, but are not limited to: preparing the Operating Room to include necessary supplies and equipment as indicated by the patient's status; providing appropriate safety and comfort measures to the patient; providing proper patient transfer and positioning; assuring maintenance of asepsis and sterile field; assuring well-being of patient including fluid balance and skin integrity; competency in equipment, supplies and their usage; investigating unfamiliar procedures, techniques, and medications; demonstrating organizational ability by using time, equipment, and personnel effectively; knowing and performing correct sterilization procedures; assuring minimal time loss between cases; utilizing physician preference cards.
  • Handles unanticipated events and crisis situations in a professional manner. Is alert to potential problems and notifies appropriate individuals as necessary.
  • Performs the technical procedures necessary for job responsibilities in a safe, effective, efficient, legal and professional manner. Is responsible for own education, personal growth and development. Takes timely action & appropriately plans for cases with consideration of individual needs.
  • Utilizes organizational assets appropriately which includes supplies, equipment, time and property. Manages room and supplies to promote use of only items needed in case and questions waste.
  • Establishes, maintains, and monitors the surgical environment to ensure that the potential for infection is reduced by proper sterilization, decontamination, and disinfection procedures.
  • Willing to assist in other roles to keep costs down and quality high.
  • Consistently performs appropriate counts per OR policy as evidenced by observation/chart review.
  • Support the Institution by operating in an efficient and cost-effective manner while projecting a positive image to the community.
  • Supports process improvement by addressing situations that are of concern and follows through with appropriate intervention.
  • The Surgical Technologist ensures that all required elements are in place for efficient completion of any and all procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • The Clinical Assistant properly prepares the examination and treatment areas per clinic standards.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees all functions of the clinic including but not limited to scheduling, registration, referral management and patient access, revenue cycle management, provider recruitment, imaging, laboratory, and clinical services.  Serves as a liaison to corporate service departments that provide and/or support these services.

  • Actively supports, maintains, and promotes organization quality initiatives.  Communicates and educates physicians and caregivers as necessary to ensure organizational understanding and compliance with quality standards.
  • Responsible for the overall patient experience and resolves any patient concerns in a timely manner.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication and develops professional relationships with physicians and advanced practice providers.  Responsible for provider relations including practice management, orientation and onboarding, and proactive problem resolution.
  • Develops, manages, and is accountable for annual operating and capital budgets.  Controls expenditures within approved budget.
  • Performs human resource responsibilities including interviewing and selection of new caregivers, coaching and development, performance appraisals, conflict resolution, corrective actions and terminations.
  • Provides exceptional leadership and promotes teamwork and collaboration.  Is accountable for the overall engagement of physicians and caregivers by creating an environment in which people feel valued and respected.
  • Plans and facilitates regularly scheduled provider and caregiver meetings.
  • Ensures compliance for various accrediting bodies and governmental agencies and performs all necessary reviews, audits, education, and training to maintain compliant status. 
  • Determines physical maintenance, facility, and equipment needs and repairs and coordinates with internal and external resources. 
  • Participates in community activities and builds and maintains positive community partnerships/relationships.
  • Performs work on projects, special assignments, committees, and other duties as assigned or as necessity dictates.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent knowledge) in business administration, health care administration, nursing, or other related field.

Preferred:

Certifications – Registered Nurse (RN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing

Typically requires 3+ years of experience in health care setting including knowledge in medical group practice management and ambulatory clinic operations.  Includes at least one year or more of supervisory experience in managing staff.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently sets an example of excellence in clinical practice. Acts as a resource to clinical staff, patients, families and other customers regarding patient care. Mentors employees in the development and enhancement of clinical skills.
  • Takes a leadership role in the promotion of Patient and Family-Centered Care.
  • Collaborates directly with Hospital Coordinators/Physicians regarding admissions, transfers and discharges.
  • Establishes nursing care for patients based on nursing process, to include: assessment data and other relevant information; identified nursing diagnosis, needs and problems; appropriate interventions as per standards of nursing practice, policies, established protocol, or as determined by the professional judgment of the RN; patient’s response to interventions; modification of care plan following evaluation of response as needed. Collaborates with physician and Healthcare team in the coordination of post-hospital care needs.
  • Handles unanticipated events and crisis situations in a professional manner. Is alert to potential problems and notifies appropriate individual as necessary.
  • Manages the delivery of nursing care utilizing the nursing process to provide high quality patient care. Directs and assists others on the Healthcare team to provide positive outcomes.
  • Performs quality control audits, monitors and documents problems as they relate to nursing issues related to accuracy, quality of care and the MDS Assures continuity of information including assessment and care plans.
  • Provides appropriate staffing levels while being fiscally responsible with productivity standards. Adjusts patient assignments to ensure safe patient care according to patient acuity. Delegates responsibilities with a professional, objective approach.
  • Utilizes critical thinking in implementing the coordination of medical and nursing interventions. Interventions demonstrate care planning that will promote good clinical outcomes.
  • Functions as a liaison between patient, family, unit staff, physician, and ancillary personnel. Facilitates collaboration between patients, family physicians and members of the Healthcare team. Rounds on patients and families; responds promptly and professionally to customers addressing requests, problems and concerns.

Required:
Education – Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Certifications – Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – American Heart Association (AHA) – Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing.
