Golf tournament raises $55,000 for Monument Health Cancer Care Institute

RAPID CITY, S.D. (June 25, 2021) – After a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the Tee It Up Fore Cancer Golf Tournament came back strong, raising $55,000 for the Monument Health Cancer Care Institute. Since 2015, the golf tournament has totaled over $300,000, which is committed to growth in cancer care services to support our region.

The 40th annual golf tournament was held at Arrowhead Country Club Monday, June 21. Funds raised through this golf tournament help the Monument Health Cancer Care Institute (CCI) continually review and update its techniques and technologies to provide leading-edge diagnostics and cancer therapies.

“We are extremely grateful to our sponsors, participants and volunteers that helped make this a fun and successful fundraising event benefiting local cancer patients,” said Monument Health Foundation Program Manager Shawn Powers. ” Money raised on behalf of CCI through events like this impacts thousands of people that come to us for care every year. It is so heartwarming to see our community come together and recognize the impact they can have on cancer care in the Black Hills.”

Tournament sponsors included Gold Sponsors Black Hills Energy, Compass One Health Care, First Interstate Bank and Vast Broadband; Silver Sponsors Boot Barn, Coca-Cola Bottling Company High Country, and US Bank; and Bronze Sponsors Security First Bank, Scull Construction, Site Work Specialists, RBC Wealth Management, Kitchen & Bath Showcase, West River Electric, and Western Dakota Insurors.
