June 18, 2026 Fundraising record set at annual Golden Guitars Gala benefitting Children’s Miracle Network

Rapid City, S.D. (June 18, 2026) – The Golden Guitars Gala, a Monument Health Foundation fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network, broke fundraising records and welcomed surprise guest Bret Michaels on June 13 at the fifth annual event. The Poison frontman performed a special acoustic set and personally contributed to the evening, helping push the total raised to $781,250, a Foundation record for the largest amount raised at a single event.

Each year, Golden Guitars signed by the musicians who play at The Monument and other select venues are auctioned off during the event. During the live auction, the top-selling guitar signed by Jason Aldean auctioned for $55,000. Funds raised support Children’s Miracle Network, with all money staying local to benefit children in the Black Hills who receive care at Monument Health hospitals.

Following his performance, Bret Michaels added to the excitement with a special package featuring signed guitars and a travel experience to one of his upcoming concerts.

“Raising $781,250 in a single evening is extraordinary, and it is a true reflection of how much this community cares about the children in our region,” said Robin Zebroski Chief Brand Officer, Monument Health. “Every dollar stays here in the Black Hills, supporting the kids and families who need it most, and for that, we are so grateful for every person who made this night possible.”

South Dakota artist Kory Van Sickle of Kory and the Fireflies developed the event as part of his company’s philanthropic program, Firefly Guitars. Golden Firefly Guitars were autographed by a star-studded lineup, including Dolly Parton, Mötley Crüe, Foreigner, Blake Shelton and Journey.
