Endometriosis is a chronic condition that affects an estimated 1 in 10 women of reproductive age. It occurs when tissue that normally lines the uterus grows outside of the uterus. This can cause a variety of symptoms, including pelvic pain, painful periods, infertility, and heavy bleeding.
In this podcast episode, we speak with Dr. Heather Brewer, an OB/GYN at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD, about endometriosis. Dr. Brewer discusses the causes, symptoms, and treatment options for this condition. She also offers advice for women who are living with endometriosis and provides support to their families and friends.
