Monument Health Neuroscience Center in Rapid City is looking for a full-time Neurologist with fellowship training in Headache Medicine. Base salary of $425K with productivity bonus incentive opportunities.
We are looking for a Headache Medicine specialist to join a well-established neurology group and to establish and grow a Headache Medicine program. Our current plan is to add 2-3 full-time Headache Medicine specialists to our neurology service line. Full-time work in headache medicine is available, but this can also be position blended with general neurology or possibly neurohospitalist work if the candidate prefers. This is a fulfilling hospital-employed position in a collegial group environment, with an emphasis on work-life balance. Inpatient neurology needs and call are provided by a 24 hr inpatient service staffed by 4 neurohospitalists.
Base salary of $425K. Productivity bonus incentive opportunities start from day one. Starting and retention bonuses of $142K. Other benefits include relocation assistance, CME reimbursement, paid malpractice, and a full benefits package.
With over 4,500 physicians and caregivers, Monument Health is comprised of 5 hospitals, 8 specialty and surgical centers and more than 40 medical clinics and health care service centers in western South Dakota.
The Neuroscience Center is located at the main MH Rapid City campus, a busy tertiary care center that serves a 5-state region. It includes a 12-bed regional sleep center, 24/7/365 neurohospitalist and neurointerventionalist services, and an active EMU. Our outpatient neurology service includes 3 epileptologists and additional partners with fellowship training in neurovascular/stroke, movement disorders, neuroophthalmology, pediatric neurology, and neuroimmunology. A fellowship-trained neuromuscular subspecialist will be joining the group in 2028. No call is required at present for our outpatient neurology department. We have a first-class infusion center readily available on campus. We are currently certified as a Primary Stroke Center with thrombectomy capability, and we are aiming at Comprehensive Stroke Center status and Level III epilepsy center status by 2028. We have 4 neurosurgeons on staff, including one who is recently fellowship-trained in functional neurosurgery and who partners closely with the neurology department. In addition, one of our residency-trained plastic surgeons performs nerve decompression surgery for migraine headaches. We have state-of-the-art radiology capabilities with fellowship-trained neuroradiologists, and our intensivist service includes partners who are fellowship-trained as neurointensivists.
