HEALING GARDEN

A quiet retreat for patients and visitors of the Cancer Care Institute, designed with native rocks and plants evocative of a spirit-rejuvenating nature walk in the Black Hills forest. Separated by decorative metal screens to reduce sound from the outdoor dining area with a shaded contemplation space for rest and reflection, the Healing Garden features sculptures meaningful to the cancer care journey.

Dr. Julie Raymond Wind Sculpture

A memorial sculpture in honor of Dr. Julie Todd Raymond, a breast cancer surgeon whose guiding passion continues to flow upon the Cancer Care Institute. The design reflects Dr. Raymond’s fondness for sailing and the commemorative plaque is adorned with an inspirational quote from Anne Brontë.

Dr. Ronald Drummond Horse Sculpture

A majestic tribute to one of the driving forces behind the Cancer Care Institute, Dr. Ronald Drummond, who was a cowboy at heart. The horse embodies the power of perseverance and lends courage to all who must endure the experience of undergoing cancer treatment.
