Monument Health in Rapid City is seeking a full-time BE/BC General Surgeon to join our group with an emphasis on high-quality patient care, collegiality, and a satisfying work environment.
Monument Health’s Bariatric and Metabolic Institute in Rapid City is an MBSAQIP-accredited center with plans to pursue additional obesity medicine certification at the next accreditation review. Our team for bariatrics includes a fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon, an obesity medicine specialist pursuing board certification, a dedicated psychiatrist, experienced APP’s, and 2 dieticians.
Monument Health Rapid City Hospital (a 417-bed regional tertiary care, Level 2 Trauma Center) that covers a 5-state region. Our general surgery group has 7 trauma/ACS surgeons covering all inpatient and trauma call. The elective surgery group is subspecialty-focused, and has a fellowship-trained bariatrics/MIS surgeon, a fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon, two fellowship-trained breast surgeons, and a general surgeon currently pursuing additional training in pediatric surgery. Monument’s support staff are available 24/7/365 and include advanced GI endoscopy, outstanding intensivist and hospitalist services, interventional radiology, and the full range of medical and surgical subspecialties. Surgical staff are supported by a brand-new, state of the art endoscopy center as well as operating rooms staffed with 24/7 first assists and robotics availability.

Fellowship training or equivalent experience in minimally invasive surgery/bariatrics. Additional areas of MIS training beyond bariatrics/foregut surgery is a plus but not required.
