As a Physical Therapist Assistant working in outpatient services, your main role involves delivering hands-on care to patients from infancy to old age and recording this care according to the established protocols. You will also be responsible for performing various patient care tasks and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Rehab Services Department. Additionally, you will actively participate in delivering physical therapy services at external locations within the community.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

• Utilizes proper critical thinking and decision-making skills when delivering care. Executes all treatment procedures according to established national, institutional, and evidence-supported guidelines. Delivers therapy that aligns with or surpasses the institution's performance benchmarks.
• Creating and submitting documentation promptly and accurately to justify medical necessity following established department guidelines.
• - Submits the necessary documentation for billing purposes, ensuring that charges and authorizations are precise.
• Shows proactivity in personal career growth. Finishes all necessary training mandated by Monument Health and for obtaining licensure/certification promptly. Actively advocates for the profession both within Monument Health and in the broader community.
• Involves and informs patients, family members, and caregivers in treatment, objective establishment, and planning for discharge when necessary.
• - Adheres to the designated physical therapy treatment regimen and communicates with the primary physical therapist regarding any modifications or concerns in the treatment plan.
• Meets all standards set by insurance regulations, accreditation organizations, and national and state regulatory bodies.
• Any additional tasks as required.

Required:

Certification - Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - South Dakota Board of Physical Therapy

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
