Job Description

Essential Functions:

The ANA Nursing Process (2010) is employed to conduct the mentioned responsibilities:

  • Collects thorough data necessary for assessing the health conditions and contexts of healthcare beneficiaries.
  • Study the assessment information to determine the diagnosis or highlight any issues.
  • Foresees the projected outcomes for a customized strategy individualized to the healthcare customer in question.
  • Devises a course of action proposing tactics and alternatives to reach desired outcomes.
  • Executes the established strategy and secures patient advancement within the plan.
  • Coordination of care entails managing the delivery of healthcare.
  • Strategies employed in health teaching and health promotion aim to enhance health and establish a secure environment.
  • The consultation services offered by the APRN and nursing role specialist focus on influencing the identified plan, strengthening the abilities of individuals, and facilitating positive changes in nursing practice.
  • Reviews the progress towards achieving targeted outcomes.

Operates within the framework established by the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010):

  • Nursing practice is methodically improved to boost quality and efficiency
  • Develops proficiency and understanding that align with present-day nursing protocols
  • Assessing personal nursing practices relative to professional standards, guidelines, and regulatory statutes
  • Contributes to and promotes the professional growth of peers and colleagues
  • Engages in teamwork with patients, families, and additional participants during nursing practice
  • Ethical provisions are embedded throughout various spheres of professional activity
  • Incorporating research conclusions into practical implementation
  • Factors like safety, efficacy, affordability, and implications on procedures should be considered when strategizing and executing nursing services
  • Takes charge in both the professional work environment and the overall field
  • Carrying out operations with a focus on environmental safety and promoting health
  • Reinforces the intent, perspective, and standards of Monument Health.
  • In compliance with state laws and regulations, a Registered Professional Nurse must provide proficient care that is consistent with the standards, policies, and guidelines outlined by regulatory entities, accrediting bodies, and certification organizations.
  • Act in accordance with the ethical standards set forth in the Code of Ethics for Nurses established by the American Nurses Association in 2010.

Utilizes applicable technology and software competently to:

  • Aid and record nursing tasks and patient treatment.
  • Make use of pertinent work-related software critical for being a committed and dynamic team member within the organization, including but not limited to the company email platform, interactive iLearn courses, surveys for employee engagement, details regarding benefits and remuneration packages, as well as guidelines and protocols.
  • Dedicated to seeking ways to enhance the quality of patient care delivery by using innovative and creative problem-solving methodologies.
  • You could be asked to undertake supplementary tasks as necessary.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
