Job Description

Essential Functions:

Executes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) in order to fulfill the following tasks:

  • Gathers in-depth data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health and circumstances.
  • Studies the assessment information to reach a diagnosis or identify issues.
  • Enumerates envisioned outcomes for a personalized strategy catered to the healthcare patient.
  • Sets forth a well-thought-out plan detailing strategies and different avenues to attain specific outcomes.
  • Carries through with the designated plan. Ensures patient advancement aligns with the plan's objectives.
  • Coordination of Services synchronizes the delivery of care provisions.
  • Health education and health promotion involve employing measures to promote well-being and ensure a safe atmosphere.
  • The advanced practice registered nurse and nursing role specialist provide consultation to impact the identified plan, enhance the abilities of others, and bring about change.
  • Reviews the progress made towards attainment of objectives.

  • Enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice through a structured approach
  • Attains the proficiency and know-how that exemplify contemporary nursing practice

  • A Registered Professional Nurse is expected to practice within the legal parameters set by the state and deliver proficient care in alignment with the standards, policies, and guidelines established by accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies.
  • Upholds the ethical standards prescribed in the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).

Shows expertise in utilizing suitable technology and software for:

  • Support the documentation of nursing care and patient activities.
  • Navigate through important work-related applications that are essential for being an involved and proactive associate of the organization, like corporate email, iLearn course materials, employee engagement surveys, data on benefits and pay, and organizational regulations.
  • Always searching for ways to uplift the standard of patient care provision through innovative and creative methods of problem-solving.
  • Executing any further tasks as allocated.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities

Regarding BLS certification: The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
