Job Description

Essential Functions:

Executes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to carry out the following roles:

  • Collects substantial and pertinent information about the health and situation of healthcare recipients.
  • Uses analysis of assessment data to establish the diagnosis or specific problems.
  • Outlines the predicted impacts of a specialized healthcare plan targeting end-users.
  • Establishes a blueprint outlining approaches and decisions to accomplish projected outcomes.
  • Implements the designated plan of action. Monitors and tracks the patient's advancement based on the strategy.
  • The organization and integration of healthcare services are essential components of care coordination.
  • Health instruction along with health promotion - integrates approaches that encourage good health and maintain a protected environment.
  • The advanced practice registered nurse and nursing role specialist collaborate during consultations to influence the outlined plan, cultivate the skills of others, and bring about change.
  • Supervises the progression towards predefined objectives.

Observes the ANA Standards of Professional Performance as per the 2010 edition:

  • Systematic measures are taken to improve the efficiency and quality of nursing practices
  • Gains competency and understanding that reflect the advancements in nursing practice to deliver high-quality care effectively
  • Inspecting the consistency of nursing practice with professional standards, guidelines, and legal regulations
  • Partners with peers to facilitate their professional growth within the organization
  • Collaborates with the patient, family, and relevant individuals in meeting nursing obligations
  • Adhering to ethical guidelines is essential in every practice discipline
  • Synthesizing research outcomes with hands-on techniques
  • When organizing and supplying nursing services, it is crucial to think about elements such as safety, effectiveness, cost, and consequences for day-to-day practices
  • Supporting progress and cultivating professional growth within the industry and organizational context
  • Complying with standards that prioritize environmental sustainability and the health of individuals

  • It is mandatory for Registered Professional Nurses to offer skilled healthcare services that adhere to the regulations and standards set forth by state laws, as well as the requirements of regulatory bodies and accrediting agencies.
  • Adheres to the professional standards outlined in the Nursing Code of Ethics (ANA 2010).

Efficiently applies applicable technology and software to:

  • Back the proper documentation and recording of nursing activities and interactions with patients.
  • Leverage a mix of job-related platforms crucial for active participation as a productive member of the organization, including accessing corporate emails, finishing iLearn training units, engaging in employee surveys, examining benefits and compensation specifics, and understanding organizational rules and protocols.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
