Our Registered Nurses play a crucial role in providing patient-centered, empathetic, and high-quality healthcare services by employing their clinical expertise and applying the principles of professional nursing. Job Description

Essential Functions:

Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to carry out the subsequent tasks:

  • Gathers detailed information relevant to the health and/or circumstances of the healthcare consumer.
  • Examines the evaluation information to identify the diagnosis or concerns present.
  • Determines anticipated results for a tailored strategy designed for the particular healthcare recipient in question.
  • Creates a blueprint that outlines methods and options to achieve desired results.
  • Carries out the established strategy. Ensures the patient advances according to the plan.
  • Coordination of care involves organizing the delivery of medical services.
  • Health teaching and health promotion involve utilizing methods to enhance well-being and create a secure setting.
  • Consultation involves the advanced practice registered nurse and nursing role specialist offering guidance to impact the established strategy, improve the skills of individuals, and bring about change.
  • Assesses the advancement made towards achieving desired results.

Adheres to the guidelines set forth by the ANA Professional Performance Standards of 2010:

  • Improves nursing practice in a systematic manner, elevating its quality and efficacy
  • Achieves the understanding and proficiency that mirrors contemporary nursing standards
  • Assessing personal nursing practice against professional standards, guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations is crucial

  • Principles followed by a Registered Professional Nurse, as defined by the state where they work, involve providing proficient and compliant care in accordance with established standards, policies, and regulations set by governing bodies and accrediting agencies.
  • Adheres to the guidelines set forth in the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).

Skillfully applies relevant technology and software to:

  • Assist and record nursing tasks and patient treatment.
  • Access various work-related applications essential for participating actively as a dedicated employee of the company, including corporate email, iLearn courses, staff surveys, details on benefits and salary, as well as organizational policies and protocols.
  • Always striving to enhance patient care by actively searching for new ways to solve problems creatively.

Additional Requirements:

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
