Required:
Education - Bachelors degree in chemical, physical, or biologic Sciences or Clinical Laboratory Science or Associates with Medical Technologists (HEW)
*Certification - Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Certification - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)/American Medical Technology (AMT) or Health and Human Services (HEW)
Preferred:
Experience - 1+ years of Laboratory Experience
* State of South Dakota does not require certification for laboratory scientists. The certification requirement for this role is an organization decision. MLT and MLS/MT caregivers hired prior to June 30, 2017 are not required to be certified. These caregivers should have a letter in their personnel files exempting them from the requirement. The certification requirement does apply to caregivers hired after June 30, 2017 into either MLT or MLS/MT jobs or Lead MLT or MLS jobs.
