Join us for our first Orthopeak Run!
Race Day will be held on September 19 at Terry Peak Ski Area.
Registration: 7 a.m. – 8 a.m.
Race start: 8 a.m.
Short Course – 2.5 miles long with 750 feet of ascending.
Begin at Stewart Lodge. Head down the Easy Out, run past the Surprise lift base station and along the railroad grade, taking the right-hand side when the road forks and comes back together. Run through the rock cutaway, which we believe will be dry in September. If not, we will use the alternative route behind it. Veer right onto Terry Cut-across. Cross Hobo Queen and Homestake and zig-zag your way up Empress and Little Hope to reach the summit.
Long Course – 3.3 miles long with over 1,000 feet of ascending.
As above, but use Gold Run to go down to the Nevada Gulch lodge and back up again. Participants will leave and re-join the short course at the same place – at the top of Gold Run.
Due to COVID-19 and physical distancing, we will be staggering start times and individuals into groups of 10. You will be notified via email as to what heat you’re in and anticipated start time. To accommodate this, you will be asked your pace per mile, and course option when purchasing a ticket. In addition, due to recommendations from the CDC, Terry Peak has been instructed not to allow any outside coolers into the facility. Please leave any coolers in your vehicle.
Post-race boxed lunch: 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Race Awards: 10 a.m. – trophies will be awarded to the following age groups.
- 18 and under
Fee: $40 includes a hat and meal ticket – extra meal tickets will be available for purchase for non-racers.
