Job Summary

Supervises and coordinates all rehabilitation services. Ensures that day-to-day clinical operations occur to reach organizational goals including, but not limited to, customer satisfaction, patient outcomes, staff satisfaction and development as well as financial success. Provides direct patient care and documentation of that care as outlined in the policy and procedure guidelines as warranted by patient caseload necessity. Provides therapy programs for patients of all ages with developmental deficits, physical injury or illness. Supports the treatment of illness and/or injury through the use of physical exercises and therapies, which assist in the rehabilitation and restoration of body functions to promote maximum client wellness and independence. The role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned based upon the facility’s needs or requirements.

Job Description

Essential Functions:
●Understands system and business practice concepts and work approaches used to systematically pursue ever-higher levels of performance. ●Assumes responsibility for the overall functions and professional growth & direction of the department.
●Organize the department and establish the responsibilities and accountability for patient care and personnel. Develop department goals and objectives which tie into the overall strategic plan, mission and rehab department philosophy. Assures that established standards for patient care are carried out.
●Compliance with and development of policies and procedures for the department; reviews annually and modifies as needed. Openly communicates to promote cooperative and collaborative working conditions.
●Participate with other directors to assure appropriate implementation of organizational decisions. Actively participates in meetings. Evaluates and implements institution goals for new patient programs/services. Actively participates in committees as appointed by the CEO, assuming that action and decisions are consistent with rehabilitation standards.
●Recommends and operates within an annual budget to meet the needs and objective in areas of responsibility. Maintain departmental expenses in a manner appropriate to the overall productivity of the department. Coordinates the utilization of man-hours, capital expenditures and supplies within budget restrictions.
●Manages hiring, staff-development, evaluation, counseling and termination processes of staff. Ensures employees are properly trained and have the necessary equipment and supplies to perform the requirements of their job.
●Performs clinical patient care as needed. Consistent written documentation that meets departmental standards.
●All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Education - Masters degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology
Certifications - Occupational Therapist (OT) - South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners; or Physical Therapist (PT) - South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners; or Speech Therapist (ST) Certification - American Speech Hearing Association (ASHA)

Experience - 1+ years of Clinical Experience; 1+ years of Management Experience

Physical Requirements:
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
