Job SummaryThe Resident Accounts Representative performs accounts receivable transactions to include processing all pertinent LTC resident demographic information, case mix level of care changes, and rate changes into the computerized A/R system. Prepares, processes and files claims for agencies such as Medicare, Medicaid, and other Commercial Insurance companies, traces delinquent billing accounts to payments and responds to inquiries regarding resident billing. This position is responsible for maintaining and keeping current computerized LTC records as well as maintaining a complete and systematic set of financial records on all LTC residents.
●Accurately reconciles accounts payable requests for vendors, and coding payment requests in a timely manner.
●Maintains accurate and timely Custody Account records.
●Processes all Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial claims for LTC monthly billings to ensure payment for accounts receivable and a positive cash flow for the facility.
●Receipts payments and processes charges on resident accounts to ensure residents are billed correctly and timely.
●Reconciles all facility bank accounts within appropriate time frames.
●Reviews and processes outstanding accounts and determines status and method of collection to increase collections and decrease accounts receivable. Interacts cooperatively with residents having delinquent accounts to promote prompt payment.
●Utilizes department policies and procedures to process claims.
●All other duties as assigned.
Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies
Experience - 1+ years of Billing/Collections Experience; 1+ years of Computer Skills-MS Office Applications
