Job Summary

The Construction Management Project Manager develops the scope of assigned projects, guides the stakeholders through the pre-concept Scope of Work (SOW), through the complete design phase. The Project Manager develops the preliminary program budgeting, creates and develops the project timeline and coordinates with all stakeholders and General Contractor (GC) for Construction execution of the approved project.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares for Pre-bid and Pre-Construction meetings.
  • Conducts weekly Construction meetings.
  • Coordinates with user for their supplied equipment, furnishings and relocations.
  • During active construction: 1. Safety. Coordinates to ensure construction activity provides safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Conducts preconstruction infection control risk assessments (ICRA) prior to project commencement. Manages interim life safety measures (ILSM) and their associated documentation. 2. Construction Administration. Processes and resolves Requests for Information (RFI), change requests and other unknown site events during construction. Initiates Change Proposal Requests (CPR) when a mandatory change is required. Provides routine Quality Assurance on each project to include project site safety for patients, staff and construction workers. 3. Construction Budget Management. Maintains construction program budget data. 4. Construction Close out period. Coordinates all close out documentation; validates and documents all State, City and JCAHO documents. Validates the Redline drawings. Ensure all documents are filed for the record in Submittal Exchange or local filing, as required. 5. Phasing. Coordinates for on-site construction and operational concerns of the user.
  • Transition planning. Coordinates equipment and staff, relocation effort, budget planning, procurement planning, and vendors.
  • Self-Performance Execution. Provides, where feasible, direct construction management execution with trades.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Education - Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered to satisfy the bachelor’s degree requirement
Certification - Driver's License - State


Education - Bachelors degree in Engineering General, Construction Management, Architecture, or Business Administration Management
Experience - 1+ years of Building Maintenance Experience; 3+ years of Electrical/Mechanical/HVA Experience; 5+ years of Facilities Management/Construction Experience
Certifications - American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) Healthcare Construction (HCC) Certification - Accredited University or accredited training professionals; Certified Health Constructor (CHC) - Compliance Certification Board (CCB); Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) - Accredited University or accredited training professionals; OSHA 30 Certification - Accredited University or accredited training professionals
