The President of the market will develop and operationalize short and long range strategic plans. President of the market will direct and coordinate the operational activities of the market. Knowledge of management principles with a working knowledge of Healthcare operations, finance, budget development, planning and the Healthcare environment is required. Must have a thorough understanding of state and local Healthcare regulations and standards. Establishes the budget parameters for the organization, monitors and meets the budget, and distributes financial reports to leadership. Represents Monument Health with other health organizations, agencies, civic groups, and community activities. Provides leadership and direction to facility caregivers in order to achieve long range plan for the market and support interdependency among caregivers and the organization.

Job Description

Essential Functions:
●Understands system and business practice concepts and work approaches to systematically pursue ever-higher levels of performance. Understands or demonstrates understanding of strategic planning, research, and development and analysis processes that do not normally imply formal sequences of steps. Further understands or demonstrates understanding that high-performance work approaches are necessary to align the organization’s efforts, as evidenced by improved customer relations’ focus, quality initiatives, financial performance, and operational performance.
●Demonstrates a clear understanding of core business structures, systems, practices, trends, and technologies within our current industry and of those in which we choose to compete in the future.
●Ensures new ideas are adopted and implemented to continually support the Healthcare mission while successfully accomplishing those goals the organization must attain for its strategy to succeed.
●Ensures employees share knowledge, understand decisions and the reasons why decisions are made and implemented.
●Creates and environment in which people feel valued, respected, and energized to explore new methods of doing business, generating revenue, and taking calculated risks.
●Develops employees based on linkage to business requirements and ensures employees are competent to manage change.
● Develops action plans (organizational-level drivers) derived from the short-term and long-term strategic planning process.
● Action plans are set to accomplish those goals the organization should achieve if its strategy is to succeed.
●Objectives and goals are created specific to the operational department(s) so that there is effective organization and department-wide understanding and deployment.
● Ensures employees understand customer-focused performance relative to measures and indicators of customers’ perceptions, reactions, and behaviors; and creates measures and indicators of product and service characteristics that are important to customers (physicians, employees, department, and other organizations).
●Develops a comprehensive annual operating and capital equipment budget and implements following Board approval.
●Employs a system of responsible accounting, including budget and internal controls.
●Provides comprehensive and accurate information to Regional Health for their use in decision making policy matters.
● Establishes formal responsibilities and accountabilities of all members of the management and professional staff, and evaluates their performance regularly. Provides direct supervision 25-35% of the time.
● Creates an operating environment that facilitates the effective practice of medicine by the physician members of the staff.
● Serves as a leader in the community for Regional Health by forming relationships with government, Healthcare, and not-for-profit organizations.
● Optimizes quality, safety and patient experience and builds relationships in a matrix setting.
● Achieves clinical, financial and operational goals.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Education - Masters degree in Health Administration, Business Administration Management, or Science
Certification - Nursing Home Administrator - South Dakota Department of Health

Preferred:
Experience - 5+ years of Healthcare Experience; 5+ years of Leadership Experience
Certification - Membership - American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE)
