Job Summary

Responsible for patient care under direction of physician or licensed healthcare provider. Performing a variety of orthopedic related activities including applying and removing dressings, removing sutures/staples, applying, and removing casts and splints.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

• Assist providers in back office duties including rooming patients, taking vital signs, and patient history, and assisting with minor procedures.
• Apply and remove dressings, removal of sutures/staples, apply and remove casts and splints.
• Supports and assists with patient care activities in collaboration with nurse.
• Perform basic triage per specific office protocol procedures.
• Place x-ray orders based on Provider protocols.
• Maintain work area, exam rooms, supplies, and medications.
• Assists with supply management and ordering.
• Perform associated clerical tasks including scheduling, filing, recalls, etc.
• All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent

Certifications - Within 60 days of hire, Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred:

Experience - 1+ years Healthcare Experience

Certification - Certified Orthopedic Technician

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
