Job Summary

The Patient/Family Education Support Associate will assist the Patient/Family Education Manager and identified collaborative departments to develop, maintain, and catalog education materials, programs and projects regarding patient/family education throughout the system of care. Under the direction of the Manager, the Support Associate will assist in accurate and consistent data management in various formats and technology platforms/programs to sustain a systematic approach to education material development and management.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Initiate, manage and administer patient/family education database/spreadsheet of currently used custom and vendor education.

  • Initiate and manage catalog of Outside of Adopted Vendors of Purchased/Free Patient Education (not custom, not Elsevier, not Mayo generated).

  • Manage patient education materials on branding tile (i.e. WEB CRD).

  • Assist caregiver/customers with patient/family education as directed by supervisor.

  • Assist in management of MH Patient/Family Education SharePoint site.

  • Manage and prioritize MH patient/family education requests as directed by supervisor.

  • Assist students/interns/externs with projects associated with MH Patient/Family.

  • Create agendas and take/manage minutes of patient/family education sponsored meetings.

  • Assist/direct patient caregivers with patient educational technology needs.

  • Know or learn basics of health literacy standards and plain language philosophy.

  • Have and maintain training and competence in relevant information technology, software and databases (Access, Excel, ADOBE, MS Office Suite, etc).

  • Revise custom patient educational materials as directed by supervisor.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements


Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)

Education - Associate's degree related field
Experience - 1+ Years Computer Skills - MS Office Applications Experience
