The Chaplain is responsible for the assessment of patient/family spirtual needs and facilitates and provides pastoral ministry to patients and families.Job Description
Essential Functions:
●Responsible for the spiritual care of patients and their families.
●Responds to calls for sacramental ministry.
●Supports an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care through coordination of clergy, pastoral visitors, and volunteers from the pastoral community.
●Utilizes time effectively and efficiently to ensure patient referrals are completed in a timely manner.
●Effectively communicates and displays a knowledge and understanding of the role and capabilities of various professionals and collaborates effectively.
●Utilizes effective verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills which reflect professional standards.Collaborates with the Patient and Family Liaison representative.
●Effectively communicates and displays a knowledge and understanding of the role and capabilities of various professionals and collaborates effectively.
●All other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
Required:
Education - Bachelors degree in Theology or Ministry
Preferred:
Experience - 1+ years of Hospice Experience; 1+ years of Pastoral Experience
Certifications - Certificate of Ordination - Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA); National Association of Catholic Chaplains Certification - Accredited University or accredited training professionals
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.40 Monument Health Home Plus
