Job Description

Essential Functions:

Operates within the framework of the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to achieve the following objectives:

  • Acquires comprehensive data that is relevant to the healthcare consumer's health condition and context.
  • Reviews the assessment findings to determine the diagnosis or issues.
  • Outlines projected outcomes for an individualized approach designed for the health service recipient.
  • Constructs a systematic plan that directs strategies and various options for attaining desired outcomes.
  • Puts in place the identified plan. Ensures patient development aligns with the plan's trajectory.
  • Coordinated Care regulates the coordination of care delivery.
  • Health instruction and health promotion incorporate methods to encourage wellness and establish a secure environment.
  • The advanced practice registered nurse and nursing role specialist use consultation as a means to influence the identified plan, enhance the abilities of others, and create change.
  • Assesses the development in achieving intended results.

Shows consistency with the professional standards outlined in the ANA guidelines:

  • Improves nursing practice in a systematic manner to optimize outcomes
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and ability that reflect current nursing standards
  • Evaluating personal nursing performance in line with professional practice standards, guidelines, and applicable laws

  • Collaborates with patients and their support system, as well as other individuals, in the provision of nursing care

  • The duties of a Registered Professional Nurse are dictated by the state in which they work and necessitate the delivery of competent care that adheres to the standards, policies, regulations, and certifications established by accrediting organizations and regulatory bodies.
  • Lives by the ethical guidelines in the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).

Displays proficiency in applying appropriate technology and software to:

  • Offer support in recording patient activities and nursing responsibilities.
  • Engage with essential work-related applications required for being a committed and proactive member of the company, including corporate email services, iLearn resources, employee engagement surveys, information on benefits and compensation, and organizational policies and guidelines.
  • Actively engages in seeking opportunities to enhance the quality of patient care delivery by employing innovative and creative problem-solving strategies.
  • Accomplishing all additional assignments as given.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities

Regarding BLS certification: The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
